Watch an AI short film
by AI Video School
Directing my own films is what drew me to AI video. I made a cinematic narrative short film using the best practices and models of December 2025. Critics often say that AI film is good at effects but can’t make you feel emotions — viewers in the comments on YouTube prove emotional storytelling using AI is possible.
Great AI movies begin with your ideas
Prompting for AI video is often presented as complex and highly specific. In this tutorial, I’ll show you a smarter way to prompt that’s not only easier but also more effective. All you need to do is use your own ideas and have AI format them into prompts trained on the documentation for the models you’re using. You get to focus on being creative!
Keep audiences engaged
with consistent characters
Creating consistent characters has been one of the most challenging problems creating AI video. Even if you’re able to generate an image of a character, that character “drifts” as they move or turn, taking the audience out of the story. I discovered a new technique that works very well for maintaining character and wardrobe consistency in AI video. It involves creating character sheets in Nano Banana and using those as ingredients or elements in video models that support references.
